1760. Captain J. Tovey’s Company, Royal Artillery repulsing the French sortie of 11th September at the Siege of Pondicherry. (Formed in 1755 as Capt J. Skeddy’s Company). Later 28 Field Battery RA.

1758. 2nd Company, Bengal Artillery at the Battle of Condore, 8th December 1758. (Formed in 1758 as part of the East India Company’s forces). Later 25 Field Battery RA.

1809. Captain R.S. Brough’s Company, 7th Battalion Royal Artillery at the capture of Martinique, 1809. (Formed in 1793 as Captain J. Bourchier’s Company, Royal Irish Artillery). Later 13 (Martinique) Field Battery RA.

19 Field Regiment recruited in northern Scotland and was called ‘The Highland Gunners’. In the centre is a 25-pounder field gun with a sergeant in battledress, and a piper of the Regiment’s Pipes and Drums in 1989.
