210 Battery on exercise
210 (Staffordshire) Battery Royal Artillery joined 103rd (Lancashire Artillery Volunteers) Regiment RA in 2013, and re-roled from air defence to the L118 Light Gun. The Regiment often exercises with its Regular Army counterpart, 4th (The North-East Gunners) Regiment RA, and this painting depicts the guns of 210 Battery at Sennybridge training area in the Regiment’s 50th year during 2017.
210 Battery has served with distinction since 1859 through its antecedent units in the South Staffordshire Regiment. It has a proud heritage and has always been manned by soldiers from the Midlands area. The Battery’s antecedents served during the Boer War and throughout both World Wars.
On each gunner's right sleeve is worn the RA Tactical Recognition Flash. On the left sleeve is the formation badge of the 1st Artillery Brigade (the Ram’s head)
