Reformation Parade of 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, 1984
The Reformation parade of 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery at Barker Barracks, Paderborn, West Germany, 1st April 1984. General Sir Richard Trant, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, takes the salute as Abbot self-propelled guns of D Battery drive past the saluting dais.
After the 2nd World War the Regiment served in the UK, Western Germany, Aden, Egypt, Kenya, Hong Kong and Cyprus. On 1st January 1978, the Regiment was disbanded at Devizes and its four batteries became independent divisional anti-tank batteries equipped with Swingfire anti-tank missiles.
The Regiment was reformed in Paderborn, from C, D and J (Sidi Rezegh) Batteries on 1st April 1984.
